This ride is designed for riders who are confident in walk, trot and canter in English tack, allowing you to enjoy more time in the saddle while exploring the beautiful Faughan Valley.

If you have only ridden in Western tack, we recommend booking the Beginner Trail Ride, as the riding style and equipment differ significantly.

Named after Pauline’s grandmother Roseann, this trail reflects the heritage of generations farming and riding in the Faughan Valley.

Milk, Meadows & Mountain is a special collaboration between City of Derry Farm & Equestrian and Dart Mountain Cheese, bringing together two rural crafts – artisan cheesemaking and life on a fourth-generation working farm.

Your experience begins at Dart Mountain Cheese in the Sperrin Mountains, where you will discover the story of the family business, explore the cheese maturation rooms and enjoy a delicious cheeseboard tasting.

From there, you will travel through the beautiful countryside to City of Derry Farm & Equestrian Centre for a wallking tour of the farm.  Meet the horses and animals, hear stories of life on a working family farm and explore the traditional of horse keeping and rural heritage in the Faughan Valley.

This immersive experience offers a genuine connection to local people, animals, food, history and landscape.

Helments are provided for riding experiences.

Most of our experiences are small group experiences to ensure a relaxed and personal atmosphere:

  • Beginer Trail Ride – maximum 2 riders
  • Advanced & Roseann’s Trail – maximum 4 riders
  • Farm experiences – small groups depending on the activity
